Below is a list of job sites.  I’ve ranked them based on my personal experience of the quantity and quality of the jobs posted, how active the sites are, ease-of-use, and the relevance of their search function. 

Some of these sites, like Adzuna, seem to be collecting their content from all the other job sites and don’t add any value.

1	LinkedIn	www.linkedin.com/jobs	LinkedIn is the Facebook of jobs. Apart from your LinkedIn Profile, it is also the go-to place for job listings in all sectors.  Be aware though, some jobs postings will bounce you through other sites (eg: adzuna etc), and by the time you get to the actual application page, the job is expired.  This caveat is balanced by the positive number of good quality jobs listed. Tip: the Easy Apply option doesn't allow for a cover letter. Suggest following up directly with the recruiter.
2	Glassdoor	www.glassdoor.co.uk	Offers millions of the latest job listings, combined with a growing database of company reviews and more. The company reviews and other supplemental information is helpful.
2	Indeed	www.indeed.co.uk	Simple yet effective job search engine
2	CV-Library	www.cv-library.co.uk	The UK’s leading independent job board and hosts 180,000+ jobs across all sectors for the nation’s jobseekers.
3	CW Jobs	www.cwjobs.co.uk	An up-to-date job search specialising in I.T. jobs. Like search where you can say "show me jobs with 45min commute from my postcode", rather than just distance. The application engine is very similar to Total Jobs.
3	Guardian Jobs	jobs.theguardian.com	With an audience comprising high-quality job seekers, Guardian Jobs only list the highest calibre vacancies in key sectors. Careers Advice section of site offers good, clear information.
4	Reed	www.reed.co.uk	Vacancies from over 25,000 recruiters a year, including private and public sector employers, leading recruitment agencies and consultants.
5	Monster	www.monster.co.uk	Search for jobs using career tools, such as career snapshots and career benchmarking and receive advice on your job search. Search often returns less relevant jobs.
5	Total Jobs	www.totaljobs.com	Any type of job, in any industry, wherever you are based. Jobsite.co.uk seems to redirect here now. The application engine is very similar to CWJobs.
9	Adzuna	www.adzuna.co.uk	They search thousands of websites so you don’t have to and bring together millions of ads so you can find every job, everywhere. They seem to get their listings by skimming other sites. Generally not great quality.
9	Neuvoo	neuvoo.co.uk	They seem to get their listings by skimming other sites. Generally not great quality.
?	Jobs.ac.uk	www.jobs.ac.uk	The leading international job board for careers in academic, research, science and related professions.
?	TechnoJobs	www.technojobs.co.uk	Used to be Computing Careers. Choose from over 1000 live vacancies in the IT sector

Use action words when describing what you have done.

For maximum impact positive words should be used selectively. Here are 101 positive words which you could use when writing a CV:

Other useful words and phrases include:- New, Key, Since adopted by, Well accepted.

But be careful of vague words like:- Co-ordinated, Liaised, Administered, Helped,

and phrases like:- Involved in, Assisted with, Knowledge of, Exposed to, Participated in

Also minimise use of unnecessary adjectives use with care! Eg Dynamic, hard-working, passionate, committed, enthusiastic, results driven/focused, people centred. These add little to your difference for the reader.

Do not say “References available on request” or “Have a car licence”
